Thanks so much for participating in this year’s Scarecrow Trail – what a fantastic collection of scarecrows you’ve all created! So much so, that the judging was incredibly close, and it came down to just half point differences between 1st place, runners up and everyone else!

Big congratulations to all of the above! And to everyone else, I hope you had fun making your scarecrows and enjoy being a part of the Trail which will bring smiles to so many faces, – and remember, all children who have entered will get a small Goodie Bag.
Owing to the school half term holiday, all winners vouchers and Goodie bags will be delivered (or available for pick up) w/c 21st October, from Wednesday 23rd.
Trail maps can be downloaded from the village website (https://dirletonvillage.org/dirleton-scarecrow-trail/dirleton-scarecrow-trail-2024), by using the QR code displayed on the Noticeboards and on the phone box (and copied below), or in paper copy (in limited supply) from a wooden file in the phone box.

Thanks to support from the Fete & Games and Dirleton Market on the
Green, the Village Scarecrow Competition is back!
This year’s competition will run for 3 weeks
Key Dates are:
- Scarecrows completed and displayed: from 7th October
- Judging: 9th or 10th October
- Scarecrows taken down: by 28th October
Prizes will be awarded across the following 3 categories:
- The Scarecrows that Made the Judges Smile the Most
- Best Traditional or Harvest Scarecrows
- Best Book, Film or TV Character Scarecrows
Our Scarecrow Trails attract hundreds of visitors from across East Lothian, so we hope to see lots of you – of all ages – joining in the fun again to help create another memorable Trail.
