Supported by Dirleton Fete & Games and Dirleton Market on the Green, this year’s Scarecrow Competition will run for 3 weeks

Key Dates are:

• Scarecrows completed and displayed: from 15th September
• Judging: 18th or 19th September
• Scarecrows taken down: by 6th October

Runners Up:

• Octopus Crow; Tom & Emma Tamaillon – 32 Castlemains Gardens
• The Orchard Apple Thief; Dirleton Primary School – Dirleton Centenary Rainbow Orchard

Best TV/Film/Book Scarecrow

Winner:

• The Farmer (from Shaun the Sheep); The Smith Family – Swiss Cottage, Manse Road

Runners Up:

• The Snail & The Whale; Millie & Flynn Jones – 18 Castlemains Gardens
• Mario Scarekart; Arthur Chynowyth – Main Road (last house on the right towards North Berwick)

Best Traditional or Harvest Scarecrow

Winner: 

• Wurzel; Naomi Howarth, Deeside Cottage (situated at the front of the Horseshoe)

Runners Up:

• Cider Jo; Diana Murray – The Rowans
• Malcolm & Mavis; Gullane Day Centre – bottom of Castlemains Farmhouse Driveway
