Oh my goodness, what an amazing bunch of scarecrows we have this year – the quality and creativity is fantastic, and it made judging almost impossible! So much so, that most entries were within half to one point of those placed first, second and third!
However, we have to have winners, and this year they are:
Scarecrow That Made the Judges Smile the Most
1st: The Surfers (especially the little one!!) – Anna Baltzer & Family, 5 Chapelhill
2nd: The Railway Gardeners (you need your binoculars, but once up close the detail is amazing!) – Rosemary Carthy, 3 Castlemains Cottages
3rd: Mr Bean – Amy Breckon & Family, High Point, Main Road

1st: HappyNess – Millie & Flynn Jones, Fidra View, Main Road
2nd: Spongebob Strawpants – the Salter Family, Dirleton House
3rd: Bob the Builder – Emma Scott, ladder on the edge of the green
Harvest/Traditional
1st: Haymish Strawbody – Richard & Emily Kitto, 1 The Glebe
2nd: Dingle Dangle Scarecrow – The Playgroup, Kirk Hall
3rd: The Animal Lover Scarecrow – Anderina Soave, 7 Gylers Road
So well done to all of the above, but also to everyone else, along with a very big “Thankyou” for taking part! We’ve already had over 40 people viewing the trail and we haven’t even had the first weekend, so you’re helping to put a smile on a lot of people’s faces!
